My Hunni's business is selling air and water purifiers. When using the air purifiers, we've noticed that more of the dust is lower to the floor. So, elevating the CPU helps it to gather less dust.

I think it would work like that naturally, like Dan said, but the air purifiers definitely make a difference in the amount of dust in the breathing space and puts the heavier stuff on the floor.
