The primary point of a browser is speed: Safari got a point there initially
The secondary is features: Safari comes standard with all the basic features such as tabs and such but has a huge shareware fan base plugins that many over see.
I've tried all of them (being a web designer) and always come out with safari. It got it all and still portrays incredible speed.
