I've never personally tried this, but have heard that affixing a small piece of panty hose over the outside of your fan inlets acts as a filter and helps keep the dust from getting in.

I'm not sure if it would interfere too much with the air flow, though, so I'd use caution if you're dealing with an overclocked machine.
