My Pros/Cons about the DS Lite:

PROS
  • The DS Lite is lighter in weight than the original
  • Has 4 screen brightness settings: Level 1 setting (default minimum) 15-19 hours of gaming, Level 2 setting (bright) 13-17 hours of gaming, Level 3 setting (brighter) 7-11 hours of gaming, and Level 4 setting (extreme brightness) 5-9 hours of gaming. I advise you not to play game with the brightest setting in the dark...not good for your eyes lol.
  • The power button is now a slide-push that is located on the right side of the console
  • Longer battery life that also varies depending on the current brightness setting.
  • Improved saturation and vivid colors.
  • This uses a Front Light instead of a Back Light to improve shaprness and clarity of the screen.
  • Takes only 3-4 hours to fully charge the DS Lite while power is off.
CONS
  • Playing Game Boy Advance games, the cartidge will protrude out from the unit just a slight bit but it won't interfere with your hands during gameplay
  • Because it is smaller, handling of the system might require some getting used to. You mustn't grapple your system but hold it with your hands off to the side as it is a lighter machine so it won't have a lot of give on your hands from the weight.
It is a vast improvement of the system and it's the same price as the original. Soon the original will start to decline in price to around $70 or so. I also think that the wireless inside has improved frequency and range.
