Well, I started looking @ vidcards lately!
(MAINLY, because of the new Gx280 series coming out by NVidia (Smokin' F A S T card, but the costs are still way, WAY up there imo... even for a 40% boost over the 9800 GTX it offers))...
& yes, though I usually WON'T do this (very often, lol)?
I am going to be upgrading here from an 8800 GT (which was updated from a 7900 GTX around 1/2 a yr. back or so), & now, to this 9800 GTX:
E.G.-> The 'latest/greatest' from NVidia, in the Gx260 & Gx280 have driven DOWN the price of the 9800 GTX to around $200 U.S. Dollars...

(... & in a few weeks, a month tops I am guessing?? I might nail one for $175 or so!)
HOWEVER:
"On-the-Cheap" - the 'upgrade trap' is one I usually avoid, but, this will be the very LAST 1 this particular machine will see.
(I say this, because heck - I "can't resist" it... )
* At least that's what I am hoping will happen...
APK
P.S.=> $175 is a HECK of a lot less than NVidia (or even ATI's) init. asking prices on these boards when they release (generally around $450-$600 ranges)... STILL - vidcards?
Ah - They "get me, everytime"...
(That's as far as the ONLY thing I usually DO upgrade/update thru the life of any system I have (generally 4-5 yrs. of my owning + using them, usually))... apk
