Good, because there IS a last thing I could tell her, but imo? It's a SMALL book to write out!
(I.E.-> Perfmon.exe usage & turning those performance counters (that store iirc, in the "hidden registry hive" for temp ops such as this, HKEY_DYN_DATA) on/off as needed using reskit tool, exctrlst.exe (sp?))
... & monitoring them for hours/days to find "bottlenecks" etc. (there is ALWAYS one too, nature of the beast - NO getting around it, just physics).
However, as LONG as that is even presently?
It IS as "accurate" as I am able to describe it, w/out going into "TOTAL GEEK SPEAK" (programming talk, mutex/semaphore flags etc. et al).

Me too, I used to be way, WAY into that, in my fieldtech days... now? Only when I go to buy... & only then, once every 4-5 yrs. (when I get my monies worth outta stuff I have, today, & usually more than DOUBLE my power once I buy, then, vs. the system I am then replacing).

Ah, I can SORT OF, almost, see their point (TO A POINT only though)... it is about delivery schedules & satisfying venture capitalists &/or departmental budgets too...

Yup, seen that little "trick" before too... intermittent ones ONLY, so they did NOT show up, off the bat, for everyone & in every usually used feature!

Yes, lol... I too, understand "paid silence", because not being silent about it "got my head chopped off" a couple times... (fired once even, for showing a network was open to attack & that their network admin had setup an antivirus improperly & we were RIDDLED by Trend Micro being out of date by over 6 months on signatures updates because of his incompetency @ the OS + softwares level (good hardware/router head though)).
Imo, the "good boss" again, has to be "ALL HATS ON HIS HEAD" & cannot be some "MCSE/CCNA etc." only... a balanced man on both software + hardware levels if NOT programming too (the "final evolution" imo).
Too many, aren't even as good as their network techs (let alone admins & coders)

Yup, in a meeting the dolt I am speaking about tried to put me down & I pointed out his mistakes on setting up the antivirus wrong... on purpose, in retaliation... I was BROUGHT IN to help create secure code (via ASP.NET/VB.NET & also @ the network level too... which was great, until this happened, & then? I got "NUKED"... well, it would NOT surprise me if one day their customers find out about a "few things", you know? LOL!)
I wouldn't though... they'll screw it up themselves soon enough, if not already on those notes.
