I have nothing against MacOS X, &/or Linux distro variants... they've all come along QUITE nicely (especially Linux, because when I used it back in Slackware distro 1.02 circa 1994? Whoosh... it was CRUDE!)
No longer the case though...
HOWEVER? Why should I change from Windows, when I can secure it to be "110% bulletproof & bugfree", per this guide:
HOW TO SECURE Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003 & even VISTA, + make it "fun to do" via CIS Tool Guidance:
http://www.thenewtech.com/forums/ope...03-vista-3550/
?
No reason to change here... not really!
I support MacOS X & even Linux on the job daily, & they have come a LONG ways, but where are the monies to be made typically? Windows!
Both on a development front (I have been a professional coder since 1994 & professional network adminstrator since 1995 as well) & Windows just plain gets more support on that front, especially for drivers for peripheral hardwares & yes, for having more softwares available for more purposes (as well as multiple choices for any given task thereof as well).
(You do Win32? Your "surface area of employment" is just greater, since it TRULY IS, the world's MOST USED OS PLATFORM THERE IS, & on the MOST USED HARDWARE PLATFORM THERE IS for Personal computing, in x86!)
I mean, face it - combined, from home end-user rigs, thru departmental servers, up thru "mission critical/enterprise class servers"? Windows is there, all the way through that strata... yielding more possible levels of employment.

P.S.=> Want to be more employeable? Well, if you want to fish, you have to go where the fish are... & largely guys, that's Windows! apk
