This is a cool thread , nice one Christopher
OK :
I live 'rural' and we don't have town water or services like that, so we live on rainwater, collected from roof into a large tank. My favourite all time drink is cool, clear rainwater. It's sooo sweet - no chemicals at all - just marvellous, when you're really thirsty (and luckily, we live several thousend miles away from any major industrial zones, so the rainwater is actually clean

)
As for alcohol.....
Whisky : my favourite whisky is Irish, and my favourite Irish is
Redbreast
Wine : a decent Bordeaux will do. NZ (& Australia) make excellent Reds & Whites, but very complex, barrowloads of this & that, all too much for me. Give me a nice slim, fairly dry French (or Italian) red that I can throw down my throat & I'm happy.
Gin : I'm very fond of Gin & Vermouth (Martini) and this is
the best Gin :
South Gin, made, as it happens, in NZ
Beer : Spoilt for choice in NZ. Although having said that, in fact my fave beer of all time is the India Pale Ale from this crowd in UK :
Sam Smith's...but you can't get it in NZ, so I drink these, mostly :
Speight's Distinction & Porter. But - as my Dad used to say, there's no bad Beer, there's just some that's better than others. Aye. Appen.
Not fussy about Coffee. I don't drink it much (1 a day, max). Tea, ditto, A nice green tea is OK in the afternoon, though...
Don't drink much in the way of soft drinks...although there's this Australian company's 'Lime refresher with Ginger', which is nice :
Buderim Ginger Cordials
