well, the place i was gonna take it doesn't do data recovery for anything other than windows - in fact nowhere seems to do data recovery for anything other than windows and there are NO mac stores or mac resellers around 
fortunately John Lewis is getting support for data recovery in a week or so, so they tell me, so i'll have to wait and see.
as far as getting a new External, then probably go with LaCie yes, it's been good storage device - although the western digital MyBook has had good reviews and is cheaper. |
