About 6 months ago I bought a bunch of internal cathode tube lights to go inside my computer case because it has a window on the side so though it would look good - which it did...

But anyway a little while ago I was feeling a bit braver than usual and took hold of a cordless drill and drilled two holes in the front of my case...

Sounds a bit crazy but there was a reason. I managed to fit two switched to the front of my case to turn the inside lights on and off. Works perfectly

Anyone else here ever done changes like this?

I'd like to have a switch for turning my lights off and on. As it is, it makes a nice night light in the evenings!

I guess it wouldn't be that hard to drill the case for a small switch. What type switch did you use?

Well the lights I bought from ebay... already had a switch on them...

Maybe Ill dig up the url to them soon...

But I just fitted them and sealed around the edges to make sure it doesnt move.... even though it was a perfect fit into my drilled hole.

Its just a simple on/off round switch, which is black

Nice! I'll have to install a light switch on mine.

lol

Very similar to car modding. I go some cheezy neon lights in my car, added a switch with an inline fuse. Go the switches from radio Shack and made a custom box. put some black felt over to make it look OEM. Looks great.
