I am Putting this here because it may be useful to others who have tried to remove Norton -

To remove a Norton application is not just a case of removing via Add and Remove in Windows you need a special tool and this is suppled by Symantec the makers of Norton for free, Norton Removal Tool > Here

lol Norton takes over your PC. Wish it wasn't so resource hungry and if it was free, it would be a decent A/V.

The problem with Norton (and some others) is all the background processes many of which are just reporting back to Symantec and do nothing for your security, Systems are sold today with Norton included "and in many cases pre-installed" retailers get a piece of the pie !
