World of Warcraft

Does anyone play the offline or LAN version of Warcraft World (WCW) called DotA? Or do you prefer the online game? I am just asking around because my friends enjoy DotA so much and yet not so many people that I ask even know about it.

What is warcraft world? Is that one of the versions of the original warcraft game? The name struck me odd because I am so used to World of Warcraft that I forgot about the orignal series of games.

Shoot! My mistake, it is World of Warcraft.

I just gave myself away. I am not a gamer myself, just someone who watches on the sidelines while trying to comprehend the pleasure that I might possibly derive from a computer game.

Anyway, WoW has this LAN/offline version, if I am not mistaken. It appears to me that the online game is more popular.

I wanted to try this but a little thing called life kinda got in the way and I forgot all about it.

WoW is all online I thought?

I bought WoW and only played about 10 hours total. I just could never get into it. The only reason I bought it was because I had a couple friends who played, but even that in the end didn't make it too exciting for me...

That makes three of us here who can't understand the appeal of the game. But yes, Chroder, it has an offline version. My gamer friends have been explaining things to me. I recently asked them if they knew about the new WoW game called Burning Crusade but they are behind these things, probably because all they do is play offline.

What is DoTA? I have never heard of an offline version of WOW. There is an expansion planned soon.

i dont really like wow becuase you have to pay a monthly fee i think dont u if your going to play mmorpg why not guild wars where it has no monthly subscription

well, i being a gamer myself, have played all sorts of blizzards games, whether it be starcraft all the way up to world of warcraft, through my experiences, DOTA or Defense of the Ancients, was a mini-game some people created in Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos, and its expansion, Frozen throne. hope that sums it up for some people

Yeah, there are no offline versions of World of Warcraft, as the entire game is focused on an online world with economy, transactions etc.

I do not have a subscription but with above 6 million accounts, I think they're doing pretty well
