Look out: XP antivirus 2008 = badware!

Opened an email, it automatically took me to a site and now i have this annoying badware on my laptop.
I'm currently backing up my files on the laptop as i type this on my slow old desktop - this bites!

Check out the above links. The first describes the exact problem i'm experiencing. The next link describes how you can get rid of it, which is what i'm about to attempt.
Has anybody else experienced this? One article about this i read had over 3million hits. So at least i'm not the only idiot.

Between last yr. & THIS year alone, I have had to remove that from 100's of machines, he's not kidding... it's removable, but a pain as well.

* Don't download some antivirus that comes to you in email, OR, as a popup/popover/popunder (or, even as a messagebox on your screen done by net send commands), because reputable antivirus companies don't hawk their wares that way, in other words...

Yes, i did finally get rid of it. I've also installed Spybot now to help me in the future.
