Okay, I'd kind of like my machines to talk, I know it was possible to create a network where OSX/OS9 could talk to XP machines and vise versa, but in Vista the OSX machine is simply not seen (even though they were on the same subnet).

Any Ideas? Chris?

I'm no help here, sorry. I've got no intention of infecting installing Vista on any computers in this household.

I'm pretty sure it should work the exact same way though. You have set up the appropriate permissions in Vista?

well, my thinking was that the vista machine should be able to see the mac anyway and vice versa, permissions can be set after that

Have you enabled Public folders sharing in the Vista Network and Sharing Centre? May want to give users change permission.
