When I go to My Pictures on my PC, all the pics shown are only icons. I've already tried several settings in the view menu, including slide show, thumbnails, etc. All of them show a little icon representing a .tiff or .jpg or whatever it is.

How do I set whatever so there are actually thumbnails of the pics?

Did you sus this out yet Davey boy?

The default for MyPictures is thumbnail view - so the only options i can see that change this are the to view options menus - one on the toolbar and one in view menu.

Have you got any Third-Party "Tweak" tools installed that might be forcing icon view? It's the only thing I can think of that is possibly affecting your view options mate.

Other than that - when was the last time it showed thumbnail view? Can you use Last Known Good Configuration?

Dave you don't need to use Last Known Good Config ! to set a view across your Computer >

1) Open My Computer 2) Open My Documents 3) Set the view to what you want via View tab 4) Click Tools "same Window" 5) Click Folder Options 6) Click View and Set "see Pic" (this is one of the basic Microsoft Windows Settings)

I don't have it fixed yet. Hmm, I had it showing pics right before I moved and networked this computer.

1. Opened my computer.
2. Opened my documents.
3. Set to thumbnails on view tab.
4. Clicked tools.
5. Clicked folder options.
6. Clicked view and did NOT find "see pic", nor anything similar to that.

Are we talking XP or Vista Dave ? as i noticed you did not say in your first post.

Man, that's a duh! I was spaced out on that one. But I did try to set all folders the same and still no pics showing.

BTW, I just remembered when that happened. It was when I had this copy of XP validated. Oh, and that answered your question, Cat, it's XP.

when you had it validated? that a while back then?

My instructions and pic are from XP Pro SP2 with full up dates is your version up to date because you should have exactly the same (i have checked this on XP Pro SP2, XP Black 5 and XP Ultimate Edition, all with MS up dates and all showing the same as i posted).
