Just got the word from a site i go to often. 1Gb Video card...I knew it would happen soon enough. Just wait till these suckers become "standard" lol.

I won't bother talking about the price as you are more than likely talking about the price of a mid range budget desktop^^;

Will 1 gig of video ram actually make a difference? I mean, is the architecture set up to handle the bandwidth of so much data? I guess SLI/PCIE can handle it.

Maybe, as long as its PCI-e and the motherboard is recent and advanced then I think it can handle it. Size would be the real issue though i would think...1GB is just way too much for the average or even a hardcore gamer...512MB is still very good. I do believe that the jump from 512 to 1024 would definetly show a performance gain.

I must say: Wow. I have a GeforeFX6800 (256M of Ram) with 2gigs of RAM, and I'm completly satisfied, with this new one looks amazing nonetheless.

Yes, You can now push whole textures of terrains etc into memory and use shared ram etc to do the rest. Without hogging down your system.

Oh boy .. quad sli = 4gb video ram lol!

64bit erra is going to rule.

Quad SLI video setup with 512 or 1gb ram, 2x 2gb system ram, 2x quadcore intel cpu's and 3 or 4 monitors on the system, and 1tb hd setup.

Can't wait to get a loan for that setup haha.

Will 64bit ever be affordable for a stupid consumer like me
