I have my harddrive partitioned into a "C" drive and a "D" drive. The original intent was to put the graphics programs onto the "D" drive and use them from there. However, laziness and forgetfulness caused me to install them on the "C" drive.

Without uninstalling from "C" and then reinstalling the programs to "D", what is the best way to move the programs to the "D" drive?

Dave

Well, it's hard to say. It will change for almost every single program.
Generally speaking it requires a simple disk copy and some tricky registry editting.

The registry editing was not what I wanted to do. Hmm, wonder if there's a program that could help with that tweaking.....

I'll probably try to find the CDs and do the uninstall/reinstall to move them. I just got lazy when installing to begin with. Or maybe it's time to get everything off this CPU onto something newer.

Hey Ann, that was some good reading and I'll probably try that out. Thanks.

Geemyknee! After more reading, and some experimenting, this does not work with Windows XP.

I may have to tackle this problem a different way.

Hi Dave

I'm thinking do you have a Partition Manager program installed as with some you can isolate and with a backup program "eg" Acronis, back up the files to another partition ?
