Hello everyone, I thought i'd rely on you guys once again for some advice

After flipping though this week's sunday circular...I found a nice LCD monitor that I am seriously considering on getting. My only question is...should I really care about how high the contrast ratio is?

This one i'm looking at is 500:1...and others i've seen are like 6, 7, or 800:1. I just want to make sure I won't see a giant difference in color clarity if I get something like a 500:1. I've read several sites that had their own explanation about what it really represents.

If I could find a nice guide about contrast ratios then that would be nice. Otherwise, can anyone give me some input regarding the ratios. I figure that 500 is still pretty good. I'm thinking it's like the difference between a 2.4 to a 2.8 Ghz processor. I don't think i'll see that big a difference lol.
