Hello all!

First of all I am fairly proficient with electronics and computers. But now I'm building my first PC from separate parts and I could use some clarification.
I've found that the main connectors that come with power supplies come in three variations: 20 pin, 20 + 4 pin, and 24 pin. My mother board has a 24 pin connector.
Question: Will a 20 + 4 pin supply work on a 24 pin mother board? Must the supply have a 24 pin connector?

Power supplies with 24 pin connectors are somewhat uncommon, it seems. Are there adapters?

I'd really appreciate any advice on this.

answer > Yes ! , the 20 + 4 connection is made up of a 20 pin plug and a 4 pin plug that locks together so the PSU can be used on a 20 pin Motherboard or a 24 pin Motherboard.
