Before you think it no this thread isn't me trying to promote my site I just want opinions. I havent even used live links

Basically I run 5DollarLink.com - It sells a text link for $5 USD. For that the link is displayed randomly across all of my websites which gets combined quite a bit of traffic.

Im just curious as to what people think of the idea? It has gone quite well and averages at about one new purchase per day. But do you think it has potential? Also how can I promote it?

And yes I know a topic like this deserves to be at a webmaster forum but oh well :P

uhhhh, i guess the best way to promote it would be to stick it anywhere u could, have you tried maybe advertising on like google or yahoo or something like that, sure it would cost a little up front but if you start getting lots of hits it would be worth it

Seems like.... someone pays $5 for their link to show up on a directory? Well, there are plenty free directories available -- what makes this one different?

The difference is that it is displayed on all of my websites... which combined gets millions of pageviews so their site does actually get seen by quite a lot of people.

And about advertising - Ive thought about it but not sure yet. Maybe Ill give it a go sometime... Ive used Adsense with other sites... Will see how it goes.
