Their out! Which basically means Dell got a nice fat shipment, and it will take them at least a month to show up on Newegg. Each core is clocked at 2.66 GHz, and the chip will work in most Socket 775 boards (Intel 975X Chipset). I wonder what the pricing will be like on them, but I'm waiting for the next generation of Intel's Core 2 stuff (whatever they have after Kentsfield). Can't wait to see how this new chip performs though, maybe one of you coudl buy it and test it out .

Cool

Not many people will actually have a use for quad core. They could create 50 cores but not until software takes advantage of multi-cores will it be useful. But will be interesting to see how they perform in todays environments.

Well, gaming is starting to and I'm betting Adobe won't be far behind. Imagine threading Photoshop or Premiere over 4 cores...

Photoshop...<drools>

I was gonna make this thread cuz I just now found this out on C|NET. If I can find architecture details about it, that would be nice so I can look at it^^

The next generation of Maya hopefully will support quad core processing! This is for the processor intensive people out there (raises hand). Remember it JUST came out...and also remember that last year, Intel released their first dual core processor ever for the Intel line on the mac. A year later...they advanced to Quad Cores! XD

AMD...I'm worried about ya :cries:
