What are the advantages/disadvantages? I am personally a Windows user, but I would like to hear from the Apple point-of-view.

Mac is going to get more users because of Boot Camp. I have also been a Windows user, but a glance at a Macbook was enough for me to really want it more than I wanted an iMac. If you are someone who is aesthetically inclined, the Mac has a very sleek design. The GUI is also very nice. From what I hear, the OS X is stable and mostly rid of virus and malware attacks. So it has got most, if not all, of the pros.

The only complaint I have about a Mac is the price. There's nothing else really, since now they run Windows too -- there's nothing not to like

Price?
I looked at the prices of apple production and they at first they appear expensive but when I looked more considerably I found that they contain top of the line hardware with included technologies the average people would not understand. For instance try to buy a an equivalent of macPro with the same stuff. You wont find one.
The truth is apple is not a third party company so that it has the ability to inspect their stuff more considerably.
After much observation the prices are a give away compared to other firms such as Dell. Plus you wont find another platform that can run all three platforms. The only problem is you have to boy the other platforms such as windows xp to run it. Have you watched new Hollywood movies? What is the most common platform you see? Are they delivering a message?
I have used Windows for years and just recently got a MacBook and my desktop has been sitting there doing nothing ever since. The only reason I turned it on is to get software from it to my mac.
Thank you very much...

This is the #1 complaint I've always had on Apple - too $$

There was a time (back in OS 8/9) when there were a lot of third party manufacturers building power pcs that ran Mac, but Apple decided to take tighter control of thier market and stopped this.
