Could you suggest me about my computer notebook that can run Ubuntu Linux smoolthly or not?
AMD sempron 1.8 Ram 512 HDD80
Now I am using WinXp SP3 everythink OK.
But I want to make more primary partition for linux.

Hi Kanolo there are a few things to consider if you want to make a dual boot (XP / Ubuntu) Notebook and can you please post your full spec in this thread (i would advise more Ram for a start) but lets go over your Computer first

My NoteBook Spec is
- Mobile AMD Sempron 3500+ (1.8 Ghz 512KB L2 Cache)
- 14.1 LCD TFT
- ATI Radeon Xpress 1100
- 80 GB HDD
- 512 MB DDR2
- 802.11 b/g wireless Lan
- DVD reader/ CD-Writer Combo

Do I need more ram for my new Ubantu?
I Plan to use Ubantu with the basic application with my website and internet-marketing data.

Is it just Ubuntu you want as your OS or Ubuntu / XP (dual boot) ?, as for your Ram "depending on how many apps you have running" 1GB will be better then 512MB and 2GB will be better then 1GB (Ubuntu is a lighter OS then Windows XP) so if you just want Ubuntu 1GB would do fine, it will work with 512MB but 1GB will be better

Thank for your suggest.
I will use 2 OS (Linux/WinXP) by the dual boots.
Because WinXP have a lot of Virus and I think Linux have a little virus. (Does it true? I don't know)
