The only point you proved, is that you like to start things up... fine, I can handle that, just fine, & with facts... here goes:
Quote:
http://windowsitpro.com/articles/ind...1095&cpage=216 (Especially the last post I did, to which he & his 'colleagues from arstechnica' were left, utterly speechless, & without reply (as well as they in a heap of trouble, lol) - & with GOOD reason(s) - I only used facts & verifiable concrete data) ![]() That's a nice title you've got there... So: Do you have any actual degrees to go with it? I have two in this field (MIS Bachelors/B.S. & Associates in Comp. Sci. (equivalent of a Masters I suppose, basically)) (As well as 15++ yrs. of professional actual "hands-on" in the trenches from network tech-> Administrator -> forensics analyst -> programmer/analyst -> software engineer (currently, in this field))... I've also been in written publications in this field around 10x now since 1996! E.G.-> In actual WRITTEN publications, from respected ones no less, such as Windows NT-magazine where my work in part, was reviewed VERY WELL, by Mr. John Enck a technical editor of theirs to this day in fact. (That is the forerunner of today's Windows IT Pro magazine in fact) That's where my work took a company (via research I did proving effective uses of Ramdisks) to a finalist position @ Microsoft Tech-Ed 2000-2002 iirc, in its hardest category: SQLServer Performance Enhancement. (That's ontop of making their SuperCache II product 40% more efficient & faster, via the reprogramming of its algorithm & mathematics on paid contract to they (EEC Systems/SuperSpeed.com, a certified MS partner)). (There are more, & far more current - but, that will do)... NOW - I don't LIKE doing that, but you tossed out your MS thing, so... had to do it, to defend myself, in kind, with facts. APK P.S.=>In fact, as an example of what happens to those who argue? I am going to quote David Bowie (portraying one of my "technical/intellectual heroes" in Nikola Tesla, no less), from the film "The Prestige" to you, in regards to this (because I dislike argument): ![]() -------------------------- TESLA/David Bowie: "Mr. Angier: Have you considered the COST of such a machine?" ANGIERS/Hugh Jackman: "PRICE IS NOT AN OBJECT!" TESLA/David Bowie: "Perhaps not... but, HAVE-YOU-CONSIDERED-THE-COST?" ANGIERS/Hugh Jackman: "I'm not sure I follow..." TESLA/David Bowie: "Go home... forget this thing: I can recognize an obsession... NO good will come of it" ANGIERS/Hugh Jackman: "Why, hasn't good come of YOUR obsessions?" TESLA/David Bowie: "Oh, @ first: BUT, I followed them too long (I am their slave) - & one day? They will choose to destroy me..." -------------------------- All I have to say, about argument... it never comes to ANY good... & I'd rather NOT be roped into some 'flaming match' here... apk

Thanks... I don't like doing it, & there's TOO MUCH of it, especially in this field of endeavor... too much ego, too much (well, you know)...
I like film, & often, since it's a dramatization of real life? I use it, as a common-ground others can understand (provided they too, have seen said film & the excerpts I use)... I don't like things like arguments (or violence, but sometimes, you have NO other choice, & makes me sad)... IF you see that film, & the part I speak of? The look in Bowie's eye... I understand it, completely... & it's something to be avoided. ANYHOW/ANYWAYS: I am still in shock, lol, & YOU KNOW WHY... WoW²... no, scratch that: ( "WoW ³ !!!" ) ![]() APK P.S.=> I have to ask, because I'll never forgive myself IF I don't? Where have YOU been all my life?? apk

Here now !I use 5 versions of Windows and 2 versions of Linux across 5 Computers No 2# in line is XP Black / Linux Mandriver dual boot, I'm not keen on standard Windows but once a few things have been cut out and a few things altered XP & Vista can be quite good, (just my personal taste) . |

![]() * You don't see very many pretty girls into computing is all (@ least not in my experience - this is refreshing & cool to know). APK P.S.=> Anyways/anyhow - you're right about VISTA: It can be "pared down" (especially on excessive services, to help offset some overuse (imo, for most users' needs) of memory, disk, & cpu I/O that most folks just DO NOT NEED (& this goes for most ANY OS out there, not just Windows)) Imo? Well... they're all setup "generic", one-size fits all! Microsoft could have made a LOT MORE of the "Holy Dollar" if they put out "tuned models" specific to diff. users' needs! (& I don't mean "XP home" ultra-crippled ones either... but full function builds you "pare down" during installation because hey: Ms-Baseline Security Advisor does this, & is "wizardy easy", most folks could grasp it... done during install? This WOULD be a good reality for MS imo (but, then again, could "gramma" set it up &/or understand how to? Probably not...))... Anyhow, nice meeting you all - I'll say one thing: I have (on purpose) avoided forums this past year, to not 'distract myself' from other duties I have to perform... you guys managed to 'suck me in' & that? That's an 'accomplishment', of sorts... apk
