I have just installed Mandriva Linux 2008 on my #3 Computer, its so clean and colourful, if your looking for an alternative OS you wont go far wrong with this.
The One installation CD is the recommended download with everything you need to start using Mandriva Linux 2008: it comes with a full KDE desktop and application suite, NVIDIA and ATI proprietary video card drivers, Intel wireless firmware, Adobe Flash and Sun Java browser plugins, all included, a knowledge of Linux is useful but not beyond first time users, its more colourful, faster and don't have the security holes or driver problems associated with Windows Vista, in fact it makes Vista look dull.
