I wish companies would stick to what they do best. It is like actors trying their hand at a singing career. I would just like some of these companies to continue to perfect what it is that they do and not try and muscle in on someone else.

Well...what would you categorize Google at "doing best"
They've been expanding quite alot, and frankly, they've been doing it quite well. Google Maps, google Mail, all of those are quite good.

I'm actually not a fan of Google Maps . . . however, I do like pretty much everything else. I actually appreciate when a good company tries to expand their services. If they do one thing well, and can apply their same great skills and business practices to other tools, then why not? Google has definitely proved that it's capable of producing great things . . . why not go all the way?

From what I heard, Google is waiting on MS release of Vista before they do anything.

Also - was the first Mac OS inspired from Xerox?
