Try downloading TweakXP. It's fairly simple to use.

Hi, I have Windows XP but like the look of Vista but not the cost so I've customized my pc using these 'FREE' apps..

Download BricoPack Vista Inspirat Ultimate 2 on CrystalXP.net - Shell Packs -- this looks just like Vista

Visual Task Tips Home -- This provides a thumbnail preview image for each task in the Windows Taskbar,

I also have a 'Dock' and rather than explaining what it is, here's a short video with the download at the top of this page -- RocketDock.com

Jason.

I use WindowBlinds (not free) for my custom looks, as well as a library of backgrounds (that is constantly growing).

I also use a dock, but I use ObjectDock (free).

There is some very nice stuff for customising at Wincustomize.Com some free some is not, but if your PC is low spec do note that themes etc use Ram & CPU %.

I use a LOT of something called "SHELL EXTENSIONS" that are built by other software authors, OR, ones I build myself... e.g.:

See on the lower left-hand side of my desktop, RIGHT under my Start button, how there is a drive letter picker there?

Well - I built one that LITERALLY "embeds itself" right INTO the startbar... & what it does, is give me F A S T driveletter access via Explorer.exe that way, + immediately to the diskdrive of MY CHOICE, & RIGHT to the diskdrive letter in question (instead of the "default" of My Documents).

IF you are curious about these types of tools/addons, I have found many decent ones, here:

SHELL EXTENSION CITY:

* Enjoy...

APK

P.S.=> You may wish to look into shell extensions, they're AWESOME for extending rightclick on folder or file menus... & much more! apk

Customising - Totally Useless Tip >

To set a blank blue homepage in Internet Explorer, do the following.

Click Tools and choose Internet Options.
On the General tab, set the homepage to about:mozilla.
Click OK.
