How do you customize your desktop? Do you use MS Plus! for XP or use skinning softwares instead? I understand that with Plus!, there are many options for changing themes and skins. I used to have a bunch of skinning softwares from Stardock, but I used them for only a while because I think I ran into some trojans as a result of downloading files made by other users. Instead, I make do with what themes are preinstalled with XP.

I used to use Style XP but when I got TuneUp Utilities, it came with a Styler that changed the themes and boot/welcome screens of my computer. Very nifty thing it came with^^

I'm a total nut for productivity / resources etc. I'm not using any visual styles, shadows are off, menu slides... etc. lol

I have not tried much customization (aside from pulling out the blue theme and changing it to the silver one ) I like it the way it is.

Don't you guys get bored with how the desktop looks sometimes? Oh well, when you are busy with working on your computer (like productivity nut Chroder ), you don't really need to make it appear fancy.

TuneUp Styler... I haven't heard of Tuneup Utilities until now.

I'm usually programming or cropping something up in Photoshop, so all these visual effects just get in the way most of the time I haven't found a good 3rd party theme I like, either, so I just turn them all off (because I find the default XP Luna theme very nasty ).

I'm a big fan of customization. Yeah, my computer is designed for efficiency and stuff, but I like an aesthetically pleasing workstation. I've always used Plus! for my needs, and it's served me very well.

Both Plus! and TuneUp are not free. Do you use anything that is free? Aside from Stardock, that is. By the way, I think I saw some free theme downloads at the Microsoft website. I am thinking of trying it.
