Anti-virus
Hello,
My new pc who I call Angel is very slow, always busy. I followed some advises of Cat-tranz, “Speed up vista” but didn’t change a lot. I use the anti-virus avast because is a only one I find for free. Do you think is Avast?

Hi Ghoumokoo

First concern is (your 1GB Ram) your ver of Vista will run a lot smother with 2GB "or more", CPU is fine, and GPU is fine

Software - what Firewall are you running ? and can you please post any other security programs you have added ?

Note you will find a very big difference by increasing your Ram

Also, you might want to visit our security section and possibly run HijackThis! Remember, if you run HJT, do NOT fix anything until someone has helped you and you're sure what you are fixing. Be sure to read the threads in that forum.

Once i know exactly how Ghoumokoo`s Computer is put together Hardware / Software i was going to suggest using two well known on line scanners and cross ref "just to see if he has any nasties" then decide on a removal program depending on the severity of the infection "if any" , would be a good idea to run HJT "as some times bits get left in the Registry".

HJT? What is it? I'm really sorry for my ignorance but it’s not easy to stay aware of all the IT process, I don’t have this kind of knowledge, but I would love to. I wonder how you do.
