Comatose51 writes "Does the Slashdot crowd know of any software, tools, or even techniques for reviewing the UI of an application? Right now at our company this is a long and arduous task of looking at slide after slide of pages and menus from our UI, and taking notes and arguing over what should go where or how the UI elements should behave and interact with the user. It takes many, many hours to do this and with all our UI developers involved, it adds up. This has to be a common and recurring problem so there must be a better way to do this. If there is open source software to help, great, but any helpful suggestion would be appreciated."

The best thing a dev. can do, imo @ least?

Go to the users that will be using said application he's building, & let THEM dictate what it should look AND act like, while they test it, vs. said developer's initial design. I've found it works the best, & gives people what they like to use, + want to use.

Sometimes, it's easier said than done, but... it seems to keep them happy.

That's as far as the user interface (not taking ALL of their suggestions into account of course, because some MAY be unrealistic or impossible (no such thing, right?)), & TRY to meet their expectations as much as possible!

After all: They're going to be the folks using said app!

P.S.=> There is, however, only 1 "problem" here: You CAN'T please everyone, all of the time (everyone's ideas are different, of what "good" is or can be)... apk
