Hi everyone!

Well I'm finally putting together my new beast but I'm not sure where to plug in the case fans (I have 2). I have a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L motherboard. There are three jacks: two called SYS_FAN 1&2 and one called PWR_FAN. Which do I use?

Also, of lesser importance, the power led supply is a three pin jack but my Rosewill case has two wires with plugs marked 'pwr +' and 'pwr -'. I'd like to figure out which pins they go on - they would easily fit on any two I need.

I tried contacting Gigabyte but it's Chinese New Year from the 6th to the 11th so no joy until then.

I know that not everyone has a Gigabyte mobo but if someone does and knows this stuff, or could direct me to where I might find out I'd be forever grateful.

Thanks!
Ken

Erm . . . Never mind. He he! I found the pinouts for everything. I'm still not sure what the PWR_FAN header is for - perhaps to control the PSU fan speed? In any event, I've got everything I need.

Soz hun only just saw this post

The 3 pin PWR_FAN connectors on your MOBO supply power TO your fans. They use 2 of the pins for that. The third pin is to monitor fan speed. Some PSUs often have a connector with 3 pins but only one wire to supply the MOBO with PSU fan speed info. NO power should ever be INPUT to the PWR_FAN connectors.
CPU fan needs to come off the MOBO and run your system fans either from the power supply using 4 pin molex connectors, SYS_FAN or PWR_FAN.

Thanks Cindy!
I got it sorted out by reading reviews and comments of various mobos. My PSU doesn't have a plug for the power fan header. If it had I would have figured it out . . . hopefully.

Anyway, thanks again!
