Picture it does not work because I have to much free space (makes a WHOLE lot of sense) and I cant seem to locate my PSP7 code and am getting NO help from the makers of PSP. So I am looking for a new rather inexpensive ($200 USD and under) program that hopefuly does EVERYTHING my other two do. PI I can trace part of an image very easily without having to ERASE the BG, I can do fading, add shapes that I can fade, add and rotate text, ect. So I LOVE that program. I use PSP7 for things such as collages, but not much else. I also downloaded a trial of photoshop CS3 E and liked some of the things I could do that program, like bluring just a portion of the image, and adding texture evenly to the whole image. I did not get enough time ( with my hecktic schedule to play with anything else in the program. I do not know if any of understand what I need it to be able to do. I can post a link to an example of what I do so you can see. But I can not seem to explain it so that people know what I am looking for. If you do understand what I am needing, Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks for the help!

Sorry to hear about your troubles with your oldies but goodies.

If you can explain in detail what exactly the trouble is, we may be able to figure it out and get you back on the road.

Have you looked over this thread? This little program can do soo much and is safe from malware and totally free!

Well I know the issue I am having with Picture it is that I need to partitian my hard drive on my laptop and install it on the smaller partcian. I do not know if I will have to register it, because if I do I am SOL, since I do not have the casing for that either, probly lost it in one of my major moves. I am really irritated with the makers of PSP at the moment as I still have not gotten any feed back from them. I do not remember having to enter a registration code for either program to install them on my desktop.

Anyways I am not sure what you need to know in order to help me. I can take screen shots and upload them to photobucket to show you exactly what I do in my programs.

Here is a link to one of the finished products of what I do. (NOTE: this image is for a game site, that for some reason I am addicted to,lol)

http://www.freewebs.com/lotusdesigncss/RahLayout2.html
(Note: With this particular layout I was sent the images of the people, and my page where I offer these graphics clearly states I am not held responsable for any copyrighted images that are send to me VIA emial. The fualt lies on that of the sender of the images.) These images are used for the sole purpose and pleasure of that who sends me the information and compensates me for my time spent)

With that said I manipulated the whole image using mainly Microsoft Picture It 2.0. The college with the text that is in the background I created in PSP7. I need a really good, easy to use, less then $200 USD program that will allow me to do the same types of things.

AFTER THOUGHT:
I partitioned my HD and it didnt hlp with my Pictureit issue. :-/

Are you referring to Picture it!, offered at one time as a free program (freeware) by Microsoft? If so, it does not require the user to register it, but it is no longer offered. Microsoft has discontinued its line of Digital Image Suite products, but some retailers may still have a copy in stock for around thirty dollars.

However, your partition size would not affect this program.

What operating system are you using? Are you using Genuine Microsoft Software? If your machine fails validation, this could affect the use of premium freeware by Microsoft, but your partition size is not the cause.

Did you have a virus or malware that required you to reformat your hard drive?

Did you buy Corel's Paint Shop Pro or download a free trial?

I bought Microsoft Picture It! 2.0 some years ago. I did not download it as a freeware product. I am not being prompted to enter a registration code. I am not able to open the program. It says it requires 30MB of free space in order to run. I have a new 2 gig 160GB I have added a few programs, so have a little less then the 160 GB but WAY more then 30MB. I partitioned my hard drive and reinstalled Picture It! to the smaller partition, which is still plenty big for picture It! So I am not sure why it still doesn't work.

I did not have a virus or malware that required me to partition my hard drive, No. Yes I am using genuine Microsoft software. It is not freeware, as I bought it.

I purchased Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7. As I bought it some time ago and have moved many times since then, I am unable to find the origanl packaging, therefore unable to find the product key to register when I am prompted. In order for me to even begin to use the program I have to register it. When I installed it on my desktop (which I just did a few months ago as I go a new one) I do not remeber having to register it. If it is just smething as simple as having to unistal it from my desk top and send in a code it gives me in order to get another registration code, I will do so, if I can be certain it will work then as I can not go weeks with out a program on any computer, until I find a replacement program.

We should be able to locate the registration keys on any machine the product is still installed on. Let's try something easy before we go into the registry.

A great tool for investigating your machine is Belarc Advisor. You can learn a lot about your machine by using this program, including the license attached to any software.

The personal edition is free, while the different programs used for commercial purposes and networks will cost you a little. The personal edition will handle your personal needs with ease. Not only will it expose the programs installed, but it will tell you everything about the hardware components that your machine was built with. You can print the inventory list for your files. Before going to the store for new goodies, you can bring this and always buy the right products for your machine, too!

You should be able to move any media files to the new drive and free up plenty of room for operating both programs and leave enough to run maintenance tools (disc clean-up, disc defrag, etc.).

Ok I downloaded it, I found JASC Paint Shop Pro. But I do not see a license No. or product key. I will post what it gives me:

Jasc Software Inc. - Animation Shop 3 Version 3.00 *
Jasc Software, Inc. - Paint Shop Pro 7 Version 7.00 *
Jasc Software, Inc. - Paint Shop Pro Version 7,0,0,0 *

The stars when I hover tell me the size and the last date it was modified and accessed. If I click on the stars it opens up the file folder with the stored information for the program. For PSP V7 it has things such as the picture tubes, brushes, ect.

So in other words... Im kinda lost now... (lol) :-\

Is the machine you ran Belarc Advisor on the same machine that you first installed it on, or the machine that your 2 programs still work correctly on?

I too love Picture it 2.0 and cannot run it in my 32bit vista laptop! (It doesn't have a key.) I also would like to know what to tweak to make it run since I have not ever seen a program that runs so easlily and has so many bells and whistles! So, for right now, it means I will never get rid of windows xp in my desktop. I have heard that with Vista we can partition off the hard drive and install another operating system (dual installaton) and then we can run Picture it 2.0 on that op. I just haven't done that yet since I doen't have a disc of any other operating system. I bought windows 95 (10 years ago) and that is when I got the Picture it 2.0. It works with all other operating systems. I have tried Picture it 7.0 and 9.0 and they both suck; no morphing, no airbrushing, NO anything like we find on 2.0. I will continue checking in here in case some other fix comes around.
