Safari is okay from what I hear. Though most Mac users I know prefer to use Firefox over Safari.

Opera is pretty good. If I didn't use Firefox, I'd definitely use Opera. It's not as customizable as FF is, which is the biggest reason I don't use it.

I'd have to vouch for Firefox too; I actually do not really enjoy it, as it does have annoying flaws...yet it still beats IE :\

The only thing I don't like about FF is the memory leaks. But each release they seem to fix one of the major problems, so I'm not too peeved about it.

It also starts up slow compared to what I like, so I've been using the Firefox Preloader. It loads some parts of FF into memory so you can start it up in an instant.

Looking in the Task Manager, you see Firefox.exe listed. If you had it running for a very long time and have lots of tabs active you'll have about 1XX,XXX Kb memory taken...i don't like that. Even closing all tabs and windows so it's down to one active tab the memory taken is still high. Gotta close the browser and open it again.

Download the Fasterfox extension (it's basically a GUI for a bunch of config values), and fine tune your memory usage. Disabling the 'fastback' feature alone significantly reduces memory usage, and reduce the memory cache helps.

But for the most part, it is the memory leaks that cause the huge memory footprint. With my tweaks and usage habbits, FF hardly ever goes above 80 megs which is why I'm not too peeved about it. (I seem to close my browser window quite often)

I have a tendency to leave GMail open in a FF window for extended periods of time. I've seen the same as 64-bit Man.

Looks like I'll be checking out the FasterFox extension!

Update: Installed.

I use Internet Explorer version 6. I have a previous installation of Firefox but I am so used to IE that I didn't bother and eventually removed it. What you guys say about FF eating memory isn't enticing.

Wow, Firefox is winning by a long shot . . .

I've never tried Opera. Macs frustrate me to no end and Safari is no exception . . . and we could all go on and on about the hassles of IE.

I just hope Mozilla's quality stays constant. I like the newest edition.

Opera is technically the "Best" and is the fastest according to stats; yet I'm not using it, and I wonder if it's just because of the less media coverage of it...

Hey since Opera was mentioned a few times, if anyone owns a DS Lite what do you think about there being an Opera software specially made for the DS? It's not known of the release date but it will happen. The DS Lite has improved wireless range than the original DS so the question of having a browser for it is in the air.

I'm thinking the PSP can go online better than the DS but I don't own a PSP.
