I think I know EVERY nook and cranny of both Heretic and Hexen. Doom 1 & 2 as well. I pretty much wore out Quake 2 and know it start to finish too.
I also liked the more obscure Descent & Descent 2 and I have Descent 3 but I don't know, it's just not the same somehow.
There's another old one that I liked called System Shock. I don't think it got very popular, but a couple of years ago I got System Shock 2 and it's really nice.
But then along came Doom 3 and then Crysis and so, well . . .
Still, I have tons of fond memories of the oldies.

Hi Anybody! I am wondering if anybody has ever heard of and/or played this game pc dvd. It's called Kane&Lynch Dead Men. It was sent to me for free from Amazon since I send them a lot of business. It says it's from the creators the Hitman series. I haven't even opened it yet. I am pretty sure it's compatible but it's seems very intense. It's for mature 17+ and it says the game experience may change during online play??? That is making no sense to me at all. I have yet to play games like this. It looks very coarse, bloody & violent etc. Well the box says it supports a Xbox 360 controller for Windows. Does that mean I do not need an Xbox but just the controller to play this game as long as it's compatible w/Windows. I am thinking it might be kind of fun. Does anyone have a ballpark idea how much one of those controllers goes for price wise? I know this game just was released in the UK recently. I bookmarked the article where I saw this dvd cd for sale it was a music site. I figured I could learn about it but I don't want to buy an X-box 360 quite yet. Can anyone answer any of my questions. Thanks for any response as I don't game like this yet but want to. ~sunshine~

I think that anything that comes from the Hitman series is bloody, coarse, and very violent and includes the drug scene, too. The Mature 17+ gives it away for violence and language (and being graphic).

I didn't know that it was out for PC, but I have seen the screenshots and some videos of the game on xBox 360. It is a co-op game and one person is a messed-up mercenary and the other is a psychopath of some sort. There's plenty of violence, shooting, and I've heard others say it's got a lot of profanity.

So if you don't like that genre, you probably won't like it.

And the game experience does change when you play it online. I found out how bad I was at some games when I played them online.

Hope that helped.

Dave

Hi Dave!
I did not buy this game-it sent to me for free from Amazon. I send them quite a lot of business. One day this disk showed-up in my mailbox so I am glad that you told me this stuff. I am completely unaware of this Hitman series btw. It does sound offensive and maybe I will spend the $$$ on memory cards instead of x-box360 controller which is needed to play this game which was made for Windows. I like the old-school games like Pinball...the non-violent types so I think you are quite on point with your response. I appreciate the low-down as this will be most likely a "gift" to another eventhough I opened to see what was inside. I am a kid at Christmas...what can I say? That might need a special gaming card too? I am the only one who has Vista HP in my family but it might work in XP? Well, I will leave it as is. I was glad to hear that it's not my type of game. Thanks, S.
