As many possible new members may not know exactly what maybe the problem with a computer (eg computer keeps rebooting, - this could be a software problem or a hardware problem) I'm thinking would it be possible to have a new board called something like (whats wrong with my computer) where a member can post what is happening as they may not know exactly what category to post there problem in the existing boards.

i know what you are trying to say, but the way you put it across as a concept is exactly what the whole forum is supposed to be for.

Exactly (the whole forum) and i think some are not sure were to post because there not sure what is wrong with there computer.

...you mean like 'HELP' as a header.

....and the members then make their own entries underneath like :

PC has power but won't boot

or

Blue screen - what do I do?

..then techie members weigh in with their own questions, try to troubleshoot and help.

...that sort of thing?

I see what you're saying Cinders - if the punter doesn't know what the problem is, they can't put in an entry under 'motherboards'
or <whatever> in the existing forums, 'cause they don't know. So the new forum would be for people who have a PC but aren't very
technical (probably the majority of punters, in fact). Interesting and possibly educational for us all, I would think.

Yes thats it , i have seen similar work very well at other tech forums and is by far the most used part of the whole forum.

Well, I think it's a good idea (although it does rather depend on how many peeps are actually going to try & contribute, help-wise...)

I've created a new category on the top.

It's not specifically about troubleshooting, but it is general enough to house those sort of "what the hell is wrong" type questions.
