Horizontal Scroll

Im in college at the moment. The PC is set at 800x600 resolution and this forum spreads into horizontal scrolling...

Usually something I try to avoid

I know

The fixed width is intentionally set at 970px to fit in 1024*768. I didn't cater to 800*600 with this design.

This is likely to upset lots of people (mostly web designers, since 800*600 folks are used to scroll bars anyway), but they can live with it for a while

cNet, Toms Hardware, AnandTech, PC Mechanic, Download.com etc do it

But I'll change it when people ask

Giselle from WMT has brought this up, so I finally got around to adding another style (well, it only required creating a child style and changing the width in the CSS

).

There is a quick-toggle button at the top after 'Calendar' that'll let you toggle between the 'narrow' and the 'wide' styles easily. But if your browser screen is large enough to show the wider style without scrolling, Javascript will auto-change your style

(If you have a wide window and choose to use the narrow style, it'll just jump back to the wide style. I have to fix that still)
