Google Talk

There have been rumors lately about a Google IM client. The last couple of days, it's been predicted that this IM client (which apparently is dubbed "Google Talk") will be available as early as Wednesday.

Well its a bit meh, I downloaded and installed and added you, but i dont think its anything special. Nothing MSN and others dont already provide.

It's a simple Jabber client, and that's just what we need.

It's still in beta, so I wonder what else they're going to add. Smilies? Text formatting? File attachments?

Try conference chat....so far there's not option to have more than 2 people in a chat room. I still like the new google talk...nick89 your right though...it doesnâ€™t offer anything more than your average msn messenger, but what I like about it, is its simplicity. The messenger isn't filled with useless functions, options, and it isn't over graphitized. Itâ€™s nice and clean. Can't wait to see the full version.

You would hope, otherwise it really isn't really being competitive.

They've already got the entire geek population rooting for them simply because they decided to use Jabber.

google talk is quite cool, not many people i know use it as we all have AIM accounts and an AIM chatroom

PSI is a decent jabber client - i used that when we tried a jabber chatroom for fazy

Ahh GTalk. It's like it just faded quietly away! My GTalk contact list consists of only about 15 people, and I never see them online. I actually disabled the gtalk account on my IM client until you just mentioned it now
