I don't 'do pets' anymore, because I tend to "move around" every 2-5 yrs. or so, travelling for work...

("Migrant farm workers" all of us nowadays in MIS/IS/IT, due to outsourcing & what-not, including hard economic times in the "land o' plenty" (USA))...

Why?

Well, because it breaks my heart having to "let one go", having done so before & listening to them "howl" when you leave, for good...

E.G.-> One time, for an apartment I lived in?? My girl & I had this lil' black cat "el gato negro" we found, stray, & took in...

Landlord say NO DICE to his presence... & thus, he had to go.

So, I put him out 1 morning before work, 8 hrs. later I came back, & he was in the EXACT same spot I left him in...

I tell you: It broke my heart to not take him inside with me, & he was 'meowing' for me to do so.

One of the hardest things I've EVER done was shutting the door in his face...

THAT experience alone, for myself? NOT fun! That did it for me, for good.
