The next PC I build I plan on making it liquid cooled however I havent got a clue how this works.

Anyone care to explain? How does it actually cool the hardware?

A radiator (like.. a fridge) cools the water and it is then pumped through copper pipes which will absorb heat from the hardware which is then absorbed by the water, which then goes back through the radiator and becomes cool again.

Good explanation, Nick!

Has anyone checked case prices for liquid cooled PCs?

Here's some more reading from About.com. It's a decent article.

A friend showed me a site that was selling water cooled cases and heat sinks. I'll post the link if I can find it again, which I haven't been able to at present.

The self-contained cases were $300 and up. The heat sinks were starting about $80. It may be expensive at the time, but prices will probably stabilize when they become common.

I guess electric components and water don't mix really well! A leak could be a really bad day for the owner.

What do they do to prevent leaks?
